Support for the person living with the condition
Dr Kylie Sotheren has a particular interest in supporting people with mast cell disorders (MCD), including MCAS. Her doctoral research focused specifically on chronic illness and quality of life.
Therapy supports parents of children under 5, and works directly with older children from around 11–12 years (depending on the child), adolescents and adults. Support may address emotional, behavioural or social concerns, personal and professional impacts, co-occurring autism, ADHD, anxiety or depression, and caregiver or family needs.
Emotional wellbeing and coping
Approaches such as CBT and ACT, emotional regulation strategies, mindfulness and relaxation can support anxiety, frustration, stress and the emotional impact of living with illness. Strategies are adapted to your needs and circumstances.
Sessions can also address health-related anxiety, medical appointments, flare-ups and confidence in managing day-to-day challenges.
Families, relationships and everyday support
Support can include caregiver stress, communication, family roles and responsibilities, and guidance on working with schools, workplaces or healthcare providers to communicate support needs.
Psychological support focuses on emotional wellbeing and quality of life. Inflori does not provide medical advice or treatment for mast cell disorders. Physical health management remains with your medical team.
